Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-06-22. Draft — review with legal counsel before publishing.

Playful Pause is a parental screen-time tool. A parent sets it up and uses it to manage screen time on their own child's devices. We designed it to collect as little as possible.

Who this is for

Playful Pause is operated by parents on behalf of their own children. A parent creates the account, adds their child, and consents to the limited data described here.

What we collect

What stays on the device

Apple Screen Time and Device Activity details, including per-app usage breakdowns shown on the child's device, are processed on-device by Apple's Family Controls framework. We do not receive, store, or transmit that per-app data.

How we use it

We use data to enforce schedules and limits, show remaining time and streaks, send push notifications, send waitlist and product emails when you consent, and operate and secure the service. We do not sell your or your child's data, use it for advertising, or track you across other apps or websites.

Service providers

We use service providers solely to run the product, including Clerk for authentication, Vercel for hosting, Neon for database hosting, and Apple for APNs, Sign in with Apple, and Family Controls.

Children's privacy

Playful Pause is a parental-control tool. A parent provides child information and consents on the child's behalf. We minimize children's data to what enforcement requires.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails anytime. You can also disconnect a device, remove a child, reset the app, or request deletion of your account and family data by contacting us.
